Eagles Sports U12 Fightback to get Win

Sports U12 come from a goal down to claim all 3 points
Sports U12's continued their unbeaten start to season and grab their second win on the road in 2 weeks. After a very good performance last week they were not at their best but dug in deep to get the win. The young Eagles started the game brightly but for some sloppy play and missed passes they could not get into a rhythm. Yateley who were quicker and faster with their movement had some half chances, in the 14th minute a free kick from the left side was floated in, Bedfont missed the clearance and the ball ran straight through to the bottom corner. The rest of the half was a stop/start with lots of niggly fouls and Bedfont lost their concentration and got involved in a tussle which meant they had no real passages of play.

In the second half Bedfont seemed to have woke up, they were more comfortable on the ball, they kept switching the play with both Kelvin and Harry causing the Yateley defence worry with strong runs and crosses. On 38mins after a couple chances already in the second half a lovely move from midfield, pushed out wide with a pass into Mason. He slipped the ball to Harry who fired the ball into the corner to equalise and giving belief to the Eagles that they could get the win. On 45 minutes another attack set Kelvin free, as he looked to go round the keeper he was fouled and a penalty awarded. Bedfont did not take advantage and missed the sport kick - the boys dusted themselves down and continued to attack. Only 4 minutes later Bedfont got their second and what would turn out to be the winner. From a corner the ball dropped around the goalmouth, Mason reacted quickest with a strong half volley to put Bedfont 2-1 up. Yateley came back at Bedfont with some attacks but defence stood up to the test which kept the chances to long range efforts.

In short not our best performance but good character from the boys to get the win but learning the need to be focused each training and match. We move on to next week and a county cup fixture against Cademy at home.
