Sports U12's got a great away win on the road this weekend. A dominant display from start to finish ensured they got all 3 points but missed chances meant game was not safe until right at the end. Staines playing with the breeze in the first half looked good on the wings and Bedfont midfield took a few mins to settle but once they did they put Staines under a lot of pressure. On 11 mins Cian won the ball inside his own half on the left, the ball went to Filip who went past 2 players and switched to the right, Stan made a lovely run and finished with a strong first time finish to put Sports 1-0 up. On 14 mins a rash challenge led to a Staines penalty being awarded on one of their rare attacks, their player finished the penalty in the bottom corner leaving it 1-1. Sports continued to attack with some close shots but also forcing the keeper to some saves and remained 1-1 at half time.
A change in formation to keep challenging the boys was made and it made an almost immediate impact, Cian picked up the ball half way in Staines half and let a rocket into the bottom corner to put us 2-1 up on 32 minutes. Sports continued to force the Staines keeper into saves and plenty of shots at goal but could not get the third. The defence kept on their toes and ensured any attacks were thwarted before they could get close to the goal, Josh in goal also kept a nice high line to protect from any over the top balls. On 57 minutes and after a half of dominance the game was made safe, Harry cut in from the left and smashed a shot off the post as the ball came out Filip on edge of the area stroked the ball home into the far corner to put Sports 3-1 up.
