Bedfont hosted Woking today in there last home game of the season….
Woking was always going to be a tough side and they didn’t disappoint.
With Staines and Goldsworth drawing we need a win would seal the title so all was to play for…. The boys have been awesome all year so we needed one last push to seal the deal… the players were nervous and it showed, we couldn’t play the way we have been playing all season, nothing was going for us…. Passing, heading, tackling…. Nothing was right…. Taking nothing from Woking, they took the game to us and went 2-0 up through some bad defending and bad decision making from the Bedfont players which see us go into half time 2-0 down….
The second half was better but no where near what we have shown all season, me and Leah had accepted defeat and were looking forward to next week when a Joe Cooper free kick found Callahan to head home, 2-1 Woking…. The momentum was with Bedfont who hit the cross bar from a Joe Cooper long range shot, a corner came and up popped Nojus to get his team back to 2-2….. Bedfont had turned up for 10 minutes and nearly won the league with another Joe Cooper header which was saved by the Woking goalkeeper…. Final score 2-2 which has seen Bedfont gain promotion to the Premier Elite were one point from next week will see us champions….
