Eagles Soar at Ashford

Hampton Youth (HRBFC) 1 Bedfont Eagles 4.

So the crunch time of the season is upon us & Eagles cup final was here. We had the short trip to Ashford, for our County cup final against Hampton Youth, who had beaten us on the first weekend of the league in September. But something about today was feeling good. Maybe it was that most of the boys had the pleasure of experience it before our that the boys are gelling into a team???
The game got underway & it was Hampton who settled quicker. Their passing was neater & quicker, this lead to a couple of early shots, but these were from distance & thankfully didn't trouble Daniel in goal. As the game went on Bedfont created their own chances, but poor touches meant that these were snuffed out. With the half drawing to a close, substitutions were made, Josh on for Jay & Reiss on for Samuel. This led to opening goal, as a through ball to Reiss, who turned his defender before shooting across the keeper into the corner. So at half-time it was 0-1.
Another substitution early into the 2nd period would see Cameron come on for Yasen. The all important 2nd goal came from Ryan, who followed up the rebound from Josh's shot. The keeper could only parry his shot as it had late swerve & feel nicely to Ryan who banged it into the goal. Ryen & Jordan came on for Josh & Zac & now the football was really starting to flow. Reiss & Yujan had shots but these just flashed past the post or were saved by their keeper. The 3rd goal was scored by Reiss, but made by Ryen, who beat a defender before laying in Reiss to smash the ball into the net. The 4th was all about Reiss, who wouldn't let the defender settle & managed to tackle him before bearing down on goal & put the ball into the top corner. Hampton to be fair never gave up & managed to get on the scoresheet in the final few seconds. A smart move & finish to the bottom corner.

A great team effort & workrate throughout. Thank you to everyone for their help & great support, Too many to mention, but you know who you are!!!!
