Eagles through to Quarter Final.

Larkspur Rovers 1 vs Bedfont Eagles 3

Eagles depleted squad faced a 4th round tie away to Larkspur Rovers, who are mid table in the Harrow Youth Premier League. With Ryan & Fabio unwell & Kyle cup tied, Eagles were down to a bare 11. When the text came through at 8.35 from an un-named player, the Manager wasn't going to take no for an answer. So off we went to Northolt with 11.
The wind was blowing up the hill from left to right. Eagles were playing with the wind. The early exchanges were very cagey & although Larkspur had plenty of touches, the Eagles side was dealing with this. Jay who had started up front was now on the left hand side of midfield & Yasen was now up front. Eagles were now starting to look dangerous & looking like they may score from either a corner or long throw. The first goal came courtesy of this channel the ball was launched into the box & Jay was there to header it in. Larkspur continued to try & get a way back into the game but the the midfields energy & the back four + the keeper were united in snuffing out any such chance.

Half-time
Larkspur 0 - 1 Eagles

The chat at half-time was to keep the energy & chat up. Making sure that we concentrated on our individual jobs & that we knew they would come at us hard. With the wind against us, we managed to get into a better momentum & doubled our lead, courtesy of a ball through the Larkspur defence & Billy running on & coolly finishing. Still Larkspur were not finished & the only time they managed to cut us apart, Daniel was on hand to dive full length & push the shot wide for a corner. A free-kick to us on halfway resulted in our 3rd goal. Troy lobbing the Larkspur keeper from 50 yards. This was the cushion we needed, as with 10 minutes remaining we went down to 10 men, as Jay was heavily challenged by their keeper. Everyone was now tiring and Larkspur were trying to use the wind & shoot at every attempt. Daniel was called into action again, this time back peddling & pushing the ball over the bar. Larkspur did get the goal they were searching for, with the final kick off the game, via a corner.

Well what a performance, everyone played their socks off & contributed to a great result. See boys, when we work together,we are a force to be reckoned with. So train hard Wednesday & bring on Sunday.
