Finally we beat Shelton in the League

Bedfont Eagles 2- 1 Shelton athletic

Bedfont entertained Shelton today, knowing that they had to transform their cup form into league points. Kyle, Mik & Jay were returning & Samuel & Yujan were absent. After last week's dramatic finally to the game, today we were looking for a more straightforward match. If only we showed the composure in front of goal as we did last week, then today could of been a cricket score. But as Greevsie used to say "it's a funny old game".
A few tweaks to the starting line up & off we went. Try as we might to take the lead, poor finishing or last gasp saves, prevented us from troubling the score, but eventually we would take the lead , when Kyle followed up, to knock the ball beyond the Shelton keeper. More chances followed, but today composure wasn't on show and we were made to pay for this. Shelton broke at pace and although we had numbers back, we switched off & allowed them back into the game.

A draw would be a point in the right direction, but this Eagles side is not settling for draws & now that 3 points are what's required to stay in this division! So with the sub's now on, they pushed for the all important 2nd goal. Try as they might, this seemed like it would never come & if Daniel hadn't been on top form ,we may well of fallen behind. With time running out Mik, came to the party & scored his first for the club & the winner.
So 3 more vital points and we are moving up the table now.
