Conquest 5 - Bedfont Eagles 7.

Bedfont knew that to get through to the County Cup Final, they would need to play as a team & fight for every scrap. The task looked even harder after a mistake by our keeper gifted Conquest an early lead, but heads stayed high and Yujan equalised before half-time, to send the teams in level.
The slightly overcrowded dressing room was interesting to say the least, but I thought the message had got through to the boys. Obviously not as within 20 of this period we were 4-1 down. Reiss had come on for Fabio & Cam for Samuel. Although we were 4-1 down the spirit of the boys showed through & Yasen was taking out in their area for a penalty. Their player dismissed for a professional foul. Troy stepped up & coolly despatched the ball. Conquest were quite content to time waste & this came back to bite them on their A***, as with only 2 minutes left Reiss fired past the hapless keeper to give Bedfont real belief. Into added time & Ryan broke free to fire in the equaliser & take it to extra time. Jordan was on by now replacing the tiring Zak.
So into extra time we went, thinking with the extra man maybe we could make them pay for their poor discipline. But again we fell behind, but not for long, Yasen was taken out by the onrushing keeper who escaped with just a yellow?? From the free kick Billy scored another trademark finish. So 5-5 and still 10 minutes to play. Daniel made a vital save to keep the scores level.
With time running out and thoughts going to penalties, Conquest had another player sent off for throwing a punch. How Ryan didn't retaliate I will never know, but thankfully for us he didn't. Reiss scored another, to finally give us alead. With time running out Conquest sent everyone up for it, but we cleared it & Reiss out sprinted his marker & skilled the player on the line before rolling the ball into the empty net.
Final whistle & a thoroughly deserved victory.

Boys!!! great belief even when the game was going away from you. Never giving up & reaping the rewards for hard work. Everyone of you played your part, but the MOM goes to???
