Eagles finally get first win

Eagles had to cope with 2 late arrivals, this meant a slight change in the starting line-up. The boys were told to believe in themselves and take the cup form into the League. Early signs were that they had forgotten what was said, but as the game went on they showed their battling qualities. The pace of Kyle was starting to cause Kings Park some problems and at times this stretched the game in our favour. Kings Park should of taken the lead, but when clean through on goal, their player completely missed the target. This spurred the Eagles on and the slick passing was now coming through. This led to Yasen going through, but with only the keeper to beat, he also missed the target. But the crowd didn't have to wait long, as Yujen popped up to finish with style (3 in 3). Soon after the half-time whistle went.

The chat at half-time was again about belief and when presented with a chance, make sure we hit the target. Early into the 2nd half, Fabio scored a peach, from outside the box, giving their keeper no chance. Still Eagles bombarded the Royals goal & debutant Kyle, got the goal his work rate deserved. 3-0 up against 2nd in the league, the boys were passing & moving the ball & putting the effort in for each other. With 20 minutes to go Eagles made more changes, this seemed to take us out of our stride & Royals started to get a foothold in the game. This resulted in them getting a goal back, still 15 minutes left on the clock. Eagles continued to apply pressure on the Royals goal,but no further goals were registered. Royals had 2 good chances, but never were taken. So finally a league win.

Well done boys!! Remember you only get out what you put in!! Great result, now only away at Crookham next week!!
