Bedfont Sports V Wealdstone

The team produced a good performance against a well organised Wealdstone side.
Pointing out to everyone before this encounter that there are no easy games in the Ryman proved to be accurate and served
the boys well in the following 90mins.
we did take an early lead thanks to a fine finish from our new signing Reece Guyett. latching onto a good cross from H.
however the early set back did not seem to affect Wealdstone too much and they were further encouraged by us losing keeper Lewis Mathews to injury with 10 mins on the board.
Wealdstone missed a great opportunity to score but failed and then it was our turn to miss opportunities to extend our lead.
By now James had stepped up to the plate in goal and showed our opposition that the team was not weakened by our keeping loss. Our Captain really stepped up to the plate. half time 1-0.
the second half saw Anthony and Harry on the score sheet with two well worked goals and then an unbelievable save from James. Wealdstone were rewarded for their hard work with a very good goal to make the final score 3-1.
an enjoyable match for the crowd in difficult conditions for both sides.
A great effort from Dave , Paul and Terry to ensure we got the game on. The result keeps us in fourth after Staines Town beat Hayes at home. We are
chuffed to be in the mix , playing against really good sides week in week out.
Another big encounter this coming week with a home fixture again against Northwood who beat us in the county cup earlier in the season.
so another challenge ahead.
My Man of the Match is My Skipper James Greenwood. didn't need to be asked twice and what a fantastic performance in between the sticks.
