Battle of the Strikers.

this was an amazing match to watch for the crowd.
Last seasons Champions have hit full throttle since they played us 1 month ago. they have ripped everyone and after 15 mins it looked
like this was going to be the same story on us. they have players with big reputations and it was their main striker Dylan Kearney (?)
who took full advantage of some sloppy defending from sports. two mix ups and two gifts were well taken to put Bedfont on the ropes and feeling
very sorry for ourselves. 2-0 down at the whistle for half time.
the beauty of having my team around me is to sort out problems and issues in three different ways, so half time was welcome and fully used.
the boys new exactly what we were thinking and more importantly how to change things around.
the response was magnificent.
Hayes were shocked. they are used to sides rolling over. But not us. We got straight back into the game and Harrison had a wonder spell
that saw two sublime goals to level the score. the first strike from an impossible angle and then a fine pass by Reece and H took on and beat their keeper then slot into the empty net. Welcome back Hollywood!!
Hayes did not like this and stoked up the pressure. another soft free kick was given and Lewis could only parry. the ball fell to one of their boys to make it 3-2.
Gutted but not finished Harrison complimented Reece with another dynamic Pass and Reece slotted home to make it 3-3.
Hayes were back on top for the remainder of the match and had two goals rightly scrubbed for off side and also hit the bar twice. We rode our luck but got the job done.3-3 the final score. What a game.
Hayes were fantastic to watch but were shaken by us. Over the two games we have taken 4 points. they are worthy champions and will take some beating not to win the league again. Id love to play them more than twice as you get so much more out of the game.

Well done guys, a great second half with huge team spirit.

Man of the Match H no question. took the match by the scruff of the neck and showed just why I have so much faith in him.

Now to refocus Ashford Town at home next........... Say no more.
