Simon Edwards Troops get the campaign off to a winning start

Sorry for the belated Match report but here goes.

We entertained Hendon for our first league fixture for this seasons campaign.
I knew the opposition Manager and so knew very well that this was going to be a tough start. Hendon managed to
play their opening match at Aldershot and won with an impressive 0-3 scoreline,
But after a open start to the match we got our first goal. Harrison picked out a great run from Brad Scott who calmly took the ball down and round the Hendon keeper to make it 1-0.
Hendon have fantastic pace out wide up front and through the middle of the pitch. this caused us some problems and silly fouls were made. It was from a foul that Hendon got back into the game. A cleaver free kick that gave Lewis Mathews little chance. 1-1. Hendon put the pressure on but we managed to contain them with some excellent defending from James Greenwood, Charlie Matheson, Joseph Smith and Connagh Wilks. half time 1-1.
Bedfont stepped it up in the second half and managed to get Cally Oreilly, Harrison Livingstone and Jack Edwards in the game a bit more.
half way through we gained a corner but it was only half cleared. Joe Smith headed the ball down to Jack Edwards. He played a quick 1-2 with Brad Scott and then slipped the ball between defenders and Harrison, who had had a few chances earlier in the game, this time made no mistake , crashing the ball home for his first and Sports second. 2-1. Anthony Mozie came on for the cramped Harrison and shortly after
Jack made way for Junior Ogunyomi .
Cam Evans had sat and covered when we attacked but it was his pass that found Anthony just inside the Hendon half. Anthony's great run drew the keeper out of his goal which enabled him to slot home from the edge of the penalty box 3-1.
to their credit Hendon kept pressing encouraged by seeing Ashley Harrick coming off Injured. Curtis Arrogah came on and helped the team
stear to the end of this entertaining game.
final score 3-1.
great start boys with a good team spirit.
We now look forward to our first fixture away to Flackwell Heath in the FA Youth Cup.
so plenty to play for as always.
Man of the Match Brad Scott.
moan of the match x2 silly bookings ( although a tad harsh in both cases)
