Action Jackson Leads Sports to victory

This was always going to be the toughest week for sports youth set up in there season. After Mondays very impressive victory over Hayes & Yeading sports faced there fellow title rivals on the same night our U16s travelled to Hanwell to contest the Middlesex county cup.

Sports Didnt start as brightly as they have this season and called apon debutant Frankie Atwell early on in the sports goal. Skipper jackson then dragged his team into the game, releasing Luke Bersey who beat his man and whipped in his cross to be met by Will Mckelvie to make it 1-0 on 18 mins. Staines Keeper then pulled off 2 top class saves to keep sports at bay before half time. The second half see sports step it up with further heroics from Harry Churhill in the staines goal, he then saved Darryl Sanders Pen and it looked like sports would not find that mortant 2nd goal. Its did come on 66 mins when Scott Whitfields free kick found the net to make it 2-0 sports. Jackson and Bersey then started to boss the midfield area and sports back 4 held firm. Atwell was called apon again in the final minutes to keep staines at bay as sports went top with 6 games to play in there bid to become champions. Next up Chertsey away on Monday night.....
