Darryl Sanders Hatrick saw sports open there ryman youth campaign in style

Sports vs. Chertsey
The eagerly anticipated opening game of the Ryman Youth League was finally upon us. Bedfont had had a good pre season and now opening their campaign against Chertsey, who were new to the league. Chertsey came to the Recreation Ground brimming with confidence for the new season in a new league. It was all set up for a great game.
In the opening exchanges Chertsey were blown away with a Darryl Sanders (or Saunders) goal within the first 5 minutes. Darryl was at it again soon afterwards, latching on to a fantastic pass from Cally to coolly slot home with his left foot. After a baptism of fire for Chertsey in the opening 20 minutes they begun to find their feet, creating a few chances but Tyler D’Cruz was more than up for the challenge. Midway through the first half Cory unfortunately had to go off with a back injury and was replaced by the skilful Brad Scott. However the Sports once again turned on the style just before half time with a series of excellent one-twos between Mally and Darryl, resulting in Darryl rifling a shot into the top corner, thereby completing his hat trick.
HALF TIME.
After half time Bedfont experienced a slight lull in their performance. The defence though held strong, as they had done all night. After motivational words from manager Terry Reader, the Sports once again upped their game. Nice ball retention from Billy, Ally, Norman, Brad and Jake led to Will getting down the wing and whipping in a pinpoint cross to Mally. The clinical forward showed great composure to tap it home, with what will be the first of many goals this season from him. With about 25 minutes to go the Sports decided to add fresh legs in the form of Curtis and James Greenwood, who added a lot of energy to the side. 10 minutes later the sports added a 5th. After great work from Curtis, Cally tapped home with his weaker left foot (you wouldn’t know it was his weaker foot). This was a great debut for the 15 year old. He was a constant threat all night and showed experience way beyond his years. Anton and Curtis’ pace combined with Jake’s long throw cumulated in few chances late on, but ultimately it ended 5 nil.
A great start to the campaign for the Sports, who will look to build on this before the next game in the FA Youth Cup game against Hayes and Yeading.
