Northwood V Bedfont Sports

We travelled to Northwood for the defence of the County cup.
Getting there on the night was a challenge in itself with several boys not involved in the warm up.
Sometimes you know in football that it isn't going to be your day and this was one.
two or three members not available and one pulling out in the morning of the game added to that feeling. But I still have
a great bunch of guys.
In the first half I think the team Played very well until we got in front of goal.
several good chances went begging and it remained 0-0 at half time.
the second half started brightly enough as well but 20 mins in we went a goal behind on what I think was against the run of play.
our response was spirited but had no thought. the boys meant well but resorted to panic. we missed a couple more good chances but we could still be out there now.
So out of the county cup early is something I have never experienced before. Very disappointed but I must (try) and look at the positives.
Our Goalkeeper was excellent. our left Back was excellent.
Our centre midfield was excellent. We played two 15 year old boys who did not disappoint.
one or two of my defenders were ill and still played. One of my centre midfielders is carrying a knock and still wants to play.
We created plenty of chances.

We Play Molesey fc next in the Combination Cup and I'm looking to improve on L L L. I do not like red boxes with Ls next to my name.
Time to step it up lads. All of us.

Man of match ..... although ...... deserves a mention.

Notice I am not naming names as some of the so called big local clubs will be reading and plotting as they have been.
I should take it as a compliment that they know that we have better players than them.!!!!!!!!!!!!
They should also know that I have never promised a player something that I have not or cannot deliver just to entice them to my club.
If these Parents and Players are easily fooled then that's their bag.. I just carry on!
