The difference a year makes!

During the week we received an email telling us that we've been promoted to the top league in U8's football. So a friendly against 1 of the teams in that league would give us a measure of where we're at. Firstly a massive congratulations to the boys for proving how far they've come in 1 year.

Now for the game. The 1st period started with the boys keeping there shape really well and pressing Isleworth into mistakes. Bradley Slade pouncing on an Isleworth player nicking the ball before smashing it in off the inside of the post. 1-0 Bedfont soon becomes 2 as a loose ball falls to Joe Cooper who keeps his cool and fires into the bottom corner. 2-0 Bedfont at the end of the 1st period and well on top.

The 2nd period starts and the boys continue in the same vein. Bradley Slade beating 2 players down the line before firing across the keeper and into the far corner. 3-0 Bedfont is soon 3-1 as Isleworth go through and score. Natan goes clean through but fires his effort wide.

The 3rd period is more even and although we hit the woodwork 3 times Isleworth score to make it 3-2.

The 4th period and Isleworth score from our kick off 3-3 arghhhh. Good saves from Archie keeps it at 3-3 but then Richard Reed goes clean through on his strong left foot but pulls his shot narrowly wide. We then have a free kick just outside the box which Bradley Slade smashes off the crossbar. A great game which I believe we deserved to win but still a good result.
