Another Bad Day at the Office for the Eagles

Another week another match for the boys. We travelled to Molesey Juniors this week and wanted to win a match.

We started really well with a great link up from Daniel and George W. It seemed that the teams were evenly matched this week and it could prove to be a great match of football. The boys were battling hard and it paid off by earning us a corner which George W took. It went straight into the goalkeepers arms. A great first 10 mins.

We didn't have it all our own way as Molesey managed to get through our defence on several occasions and George G made some great saves using every part of his body as one of the parents said!

As usual Archie was there at the back with Billy and they managed to fend of Molesey's players until the 12th minute and Molesey broke through and scored.

Back to the centre and we kicked off again. But we really wanted a goal.................then it came in the 15th minute and great assist from George W feeding the ball into Kai and there is was, the ball in the back of the net.

The boys were on a high and then battled again, a long ball from George G fell to Matt, who found George W who was one on one with the opposition goalkeeper, but he kept his cool and slotted it past him. The whistle then blew for half time. We went in 2-1 up.

The second half started off badly, within the first couple of minutes Molesey had got by us and scored. We were all level. We did have our chances with shot's from Billy, and a great link up from Billy and Matt, but we couldn't get the ball in the back of the net. Daniel in defence ran his socks off bothering the Molesey players. Archie also made a great little back heel in the box but it was intercepted by the opposition.

The boys found this half hard and Molesey managed to get another two goals past us in the last few minutes.

It will come boys........keep trying.
