There is a difference between playing badly and losing and playing well and losing. Today the boys played really well but lost.

The game started and the opposition same at us strongly, but George G was there to make some good saves. Our defence was strong with Charlie and Daniel making Meadows players play the ball.

The boys then settled down and started playing football, a free kick on the edge of the box gave Charlie the opportunity to have a shot on goal but it went wide. We then stayed down in Meadows half having another shot from Matthew. Was it going to be another one of those days where we just couldn't score?????

The boys were battling hard and we earned a corner which George W took but we just couldn't get a player on the end of it. This half also saw shot's from Archie and Charlie.

We didn't have it all our own way Meadows pressured us for the whole half and George G made some great saves and we had a great link up between Matt and Billy putting the opposition goalkeeper under pressure. Also George W made a Meadows player work so hard to get the ball and got past him for a shot on goal.

But with only two minutes to go we lost concentration for a second and Meadows were through and scored a goal.

We came out in the second half and it looked like the boys meant business. They looked strong and battled hard for every single kick of the ball. Daniel just wouldn't let Meadows have the ball and when the did either cleared it or managed to get the pass in. Another great link up from Billy and George W led to a shot on goal, but again it went wide. The boys wanted to win this match and were playing as a team.

Matt was is usual strong self and fought hard for the ball. But again we lost our players and Meadows were through and scored. We were 0-2 down. But the difference this week was that the boys heads did not go down. They battled hard and shortly after this paid off, with Kai linking up with Billy in the box. It was a goal.

Quickly back to the centre spot and off we went, the boys really wanted to win and gave it there all with more pressure and a shot from Matt going wide of the goal and then another from Billy. But then we just ran out of time. Meadows gave us a really good game and the boys really played their socks off today.

WELL DONE.
