The boys wanted to put last week's loss behind them but it turned out to be another hard match.

Today the boy's started strongly and for the first 10 minutes they held there own. They were evenly matched with Claygate and we played well.

George G made at least 3 saves in a row and got the ball up to the other end with ease. At times we showed glimpses of what we could really be like with a shot from Matt. Then a brilliant link up between Charlie and Matt caused Claygate a few problems.

Claygate then came back at us but Daniel and Archie in defence would not let get a shot away. Then the ball fell to us and we had great passing from Kai and Billy getting the ball up to the oppositions end. But their defence was there to spoil the run.

Just for a second we lost concentration and Claygate were through and scored their first goal. The boys were still trying though, with a shot from Kai going wide. George W was strong in mid-field and tried to get the ball to our players but Claygate were always there.

We went in at half time 0-1 down.

We came back out and again started well with a shot on goal from Billy shortly after kicking off. But then the next goal came from Claygate. They were relentless on our goal for a good 15 mins but the boys battled. We did have shots in the second half from George W , Billy and Kai. But again Claygate held us hostage in our own half and another goal went in, and then another and a further 3. But George G made at least another 6 saves.

Towards the end of the second half we got down to Claygate's end and with great thinking in the box from Billy passing the ball to Matthew who scored. This put the spring back in the boy's steps and Daniel had two more shots at goal, one from near the halfway line that bounced off the crossbar. But it was not meant to be again this week.

This season is proving to a huge learning curve for the boys, but I am sure if they carry on trying and listening they will go from strength to strength.
