A Nervous Start for the Eagles

The game started well and the boys were settling down into the match, but Carshalton were strong and we seemed to be playing defensively. We were also strong in defence and didn't want to let them get through on goal. We had great defending in the first half from Archie and Daniel, but Carshalton pressured and they got a goal

We did have some goods passes from Billy and a shot on goal from Matthew. Kai also had a chance to get in the box several times and score, but it just wasn't happening for us. George G also made some great saves but we went in at half time 0-1 down.

The second half started much as the first with Carshalton piling on the pressure and they broke through the defence and scored quickly. They were relentless and again George G made some great saves. But again Carshalton scored.

They boys heads went down and we all tried to get them going again, which paid off as George W had a great shot on goal that went wide. But again Carshalton scored another goal.

Again we had great defending from Charlie, Daniel and Matt, and then it all came together, passing the ball to get down to the Carshalton goal where Daniel played the ball into Billy who scored.

Carshalton then went at us all guns blazing. George G again made some great saves but they then got another one past us.

It was a good first game for us, even though we lost it showed the boys where they need to improve. Let's look forward to our match next week and keep fighting.
