Eagles, kings on the road.

Eagles U9’s took on Kingstonian Youth Royals away in the 2nd game of 2015. After last week’s 6-1 drubbing at the hands of Claygate the lads where still shell shocked, but manager Glen Wise had his hair drier set to maximum, his team talk sparked the lads into action, so onto the game.

Eagles started at a cracking pace and we were playing some great football but the final ball was lacking in finishing off some great moves. With Morgan the cat barking his orders at Jay and Cole who stood fast at any KYR attack, this allowed Captain Jake, Dan and Emon to work the midfield and try to release Harrison on their goal, with eagles on top the 1st quarter flashed by 0-0

KYR started the 2nd quarter at a better pace and this put us under pressure, great defending by Frankie and Jay stopped the early KYR chances but they scored at the end of the 2nd quarter 0-1

The 3rd quarter team talk fired the lads up again and then the pressure was on the KYR goal, Dan’s great pass found Emon (Birthday boy) who coolly finished for the second week running and it was 1-1

The start of 4th quarter was all Eagles the whole team started to push for the win, Harrison found Dan who smashed the ball in 2-1. The KYR referee’s watch must have stopped because we went into Fergie time, Morgan pulled off a great double save to keep the score at 2-1 and the ref still played on, in the end he found his pea for his whistle and blew for full time.

Note to parent’s thank you for voting Frankie MOM but next week please don’t do it again, as the running cost I have are 1st tackle £5, 2nd tackle £5, Header £5, Shot cleared of the line £5, MOM £5, so thanks again “not”

Joking apart a great team performance and the lads seem to have found there mojo again…Come on Eagles
