Eagles clip Griffins Wings

Eagles U9’s took on Hanworth Sports Griffins in the 2nd game of a 3 week round robin, With Frankie missing and no water carrier (that’s Aaron), Manager Glen picked his side and sent them out.

1st Qt

Team started strong and Rio took a corner in the 1st minute with good passing from Harrison in the box allowing Rio to take a shot at the goal but sadly missed. The boys push up and 7 minutes in Joseph takes on the Hanworth defence and shoots but his good efforts see the shot go behind the bar. Bedfont seem to have Hanworth hemmed in! (Daves words lol)

2nd Qt

Cole and Emon come off of subs bench replacing Jake and Harrison. The boys start well but Hanworth seem to have come back on the pitch determined. Morgan is on the ball and saving well but Hanworth get one past him and score in the 8th minute.

3rd Qt

Jake and Harrison return to the pitch after the managers team chat and the boys are on form with their passing. A free kick is given, Jake our captain takes control and our first goal is scored from outside the box in the 1st minute of the quarter. Dan takes on some good tackles and we look as determined as Hanworth did in the 2nd quarter. Rio comes in on the 6th minute and scores. Brilliant passing from the team.

4th Qt

Cole and Emon are back on in this quarter and Hanworth are pushing on. They score their 2nd goal in the 5th minute. Bedfont now seem to have the bit between their teeth and tackles are flowing. Joseph goes in hard and attempts a goal with a header but misses. The boys carry on and are playing well, Jay takes a wallop in the face from the ball but seems un-phased! He passes to Joe who scores our 3rd goal in the 12th minute winning us the game.
