Eagles U9’s took on Barnes Eagles away in the 1st game of a 3 week round robin. After winning the last game against CAW 3-2 before half term the boys looked hungry. With our new kit, bags, coats supplied by our sponsors DJM Ltd and AS Transport (Thank you Dave/Mark/Clare) the boys really looked the part.

Being remembrance Sunday the lads where fantastic in thinking about who had fallen in the minute silence before the game and credit to them.

So onto the game, Barnes started brighter in the 1st 5mins but then we came into the game, Morgan our new found shot stopper started barking his orders and in turn Jay and Frankie started to listen to him and we started to push Barnes on the back foot.

This helped our midfield of Jake, Rio and Harrison to find Joe with some excellent through balls and on a better day he would have taken the chances as always (don’t worry Clive its only £10 a goal..lol).

The 1st goal came from great shutting down by Jake in midfield and the ball bounced to Dan who’s halfway line ping sailed over the Barnes keeper 1-0.

Manager Glen Wise changed the team for the second half and on came our pocket rocket Cole Paul, Emon went into defence and the lads started to push on again. We forced a corner, Rio delivered a perfect ball into the box and then Captain Jake “BACK” heeled the ball into the net for 2-0

Barnes came back in the game again but Morgan the cat keeping them at bay, but with all his efforts and a hand injury they scored to make it 2-1

Eagles pushed on again Harrison found Dan who coolly finished to make the score 3-1 and the game was over.

Note to the lads, everyone played as a team on Sunday in every position and a brilliant performance by every single player, well done lads
