Call the Cops…..What a game

Eagles U9’s took on Met Police Youth Blues at home in the league, with the 1st trophy of the season in the bag the lads where full of confidence, again for manager Glen Wise the whole squad was available, so a good problem to have in the starting line up….the game was set out in 4 x 12.30mins Quarters.

The Game

MPYB look good in the warm up so Manager Glen Wise told the lads they needed to start well and the game went off at a cracking pace, the football played by both sides was of the highest standard and saves by Morgan and the MPYB keeper kept the score at 0-0 in the 1st 5 minutes. Also the Eagles defence of Jay, Cole, Emon, Dan and Frankie were in excellent form and going forward we were excellent to.

MPYB scored 1st with a well worked goal but Eagles came straight back with Jay finding Jake who finished to make the score 1-1. Harrison worked well with Rio and created more chances but we could not get pass the MPYB keeper, MPYB then went into a 3-1 lead. Then a corner by Rio found Jake who’s diving header crashed of the bar…so close!!

Dan started to pull the strings in midfield, Jay was a rock at the back and Eagles pushed on again, Jake got a penalty and Joe scored his last goal for the club (always an Eagle Joe). Although we lost it was a cracking game, and I’m sorry for the short match report but I was caught up in the game.
