Eagles athletic against Carshalton

Eagles U9’s took on Carshalton Athletic Whites at home in the 6th game of the season. After last weeks defeat but excellent game against Spelthorne, we started at a cracking pace and scored within 10secs, but the manager’s ploy of starting with 8 players was our mistake so we disallowed the goal and started again, from the quick restart the boys where in full flow.

Captain Jake found Joe who coolly finished and it was 1-0 with 3mins gone, with Jay, Frankie, Cole getting to grips with CAW forwards in defence, this released Harrison and Rio higher up the pitch and as always Jake pushed us on. Harrison found Joe who scored his second goal of the game on 11mins.

The lads then switched off and CAW game back strongly in the game and they scored two quick goals to make the 2nd quarter 2-2.

With the boys getting a second wind they pushed on, Rio found Jake, his halfway line shot crashed off the crossbar, it hit the net then CAW Keeper pushed ball against the post..’goal’…the referee gave the goal and it was 3-2

At this point CAW left the field of play?

A special note to Morgan Benn, he has decided to put the gloves on this season for the lads and today he was fantastic, from using every part of his body to stop the ball, to coming out and catching the ball in a crowd of players, to being brave at CAW players feet to stop any chance on our goal, (they say goalkeepers are sometimes mad) and I should know, well done Morgan (on time every week please Nobby)
