Eagles under 9’s travelled to AFC Ewell, with the Manager Glenn Wise on a scouting mission in Guildford and we were also without Harrison Wise and Morgan Benn, so it was just seven players available for the game.
AFC Ewell asked to play 4-10 minute halves and Emon Masoudi went in goal for the 1st 10, AFC went at us from the start and scored early, then unfortunately Captain Jake Beck put through his own goal and it was 2-0. Eagles pushed on and Joe Warren’s shot was blocked but Rio Monks finished to make the score 2-1.
The next two halves of 10 mins saw attacks from both teams but no goals were scored. Jay Taylor, Frankie, Emon and Cole Paul made some excellent defending tackles in these halves, which released Jake, Rio, Joe in attack trying to get us back in the game.
The last 10 mins kicked off, the lads looked out of energy and Ewell pushed on to victory scoring 3 more goals (one being another own goal, hard luck Cole), we are getting to grips on the bigger pitch format and with the Manager recharging his batteries, he may have a master plan for next Sundays home game.
F-T 1-5
