Learning along the way.

3 weeks after our first ever friendly fixture, we came up against the same opponents again.

Even though we'd been given a good seeing to last time out we agreed to play Doverhouse again, they are new to the league and had been having trouble getting fixtures, so we were happy to offer a return fixture. It had been a good lesson to learn.

I was very interested to see how we would cope against a rampant group of boys.

I can only say the answer was very well. Doverhouse had played Alex's Rangers side for half an hour in the first part of our three way game, and they'd got nicely into their stride, winning the game 4-2.

I watched with interest as the boys warmed up, going through their paces in the background of the first fixture. The game going on in the background. I felt they'd come a long way since the last game and so it was to be proved.

They are a good side but I felt the other games we've played and the progress achieved by the boys, was about to show itself, and it did.

We welcomed James back from holiday, and he slotted nicely in at right side of 3 at the back. Andy is growing stronger by the game, and Luca and Aiden were working their socks off in midfield. Joe was a constant threat down the right and Yusuf was great in control and always looked dangerous possession. Asa, a loanee worked tirelessly as we pressed and hassled all the way through the first fifteen minutes, creating chance after chance. Our efforts didn't go unnoticed as their manager John commented how much we've grown in 3 weeks. We have, it's been a lot of hard work, but the boys are showing it's been worth it.

We got caught on the break, definitely something we need to work on, but that is advanced stuff, and I have nothing but praise for the effort the boys put in to get back on level terms with a simple tap by Asa in after good football and a fine shot by Yusuf.

Man of the match was Andy, his presence is growing all the time.

The second game was an enjoyable one, where we dominated possession but again got caught on the break.
A brilliant goal by Jake crook, followed by a fantastic goal by Frankie were the most notable features of the is entertaining match.
I awarded Frankie man of the match for the 20 yard strike that kept us in the game.
