However whatever the weather, were happy to be out there.

We played a friendly today against a Woking Cougars side that come from the premier division of the Surrey primary league.

Played to a back drop of fund and awareness raising of Jac Rush http://www.gofundme.com/m07lu4

How lucky we are to be able to take to the pitch on a cold wet windy miserable day in mid February, and I mean it, cold wet miserable and all fit and raring to go.

It sometimes gets lost on us in our day to day lives that life is a blessing.

We sometimes get so caught up in wether our son is the star of the show or getting the plaudits he deserves, wether he should have made that pass or scored that goal, or perhaps played in that position which he struggles in.

These are all situations that should be seen as challenges to enjoy, because life can deal you very different hands Jac Rush found out. ashttp://www.gofundme.com/m07lu4

The thing I love about my position within the team is that I'm very lucky to be in a club that has entrusted me with the job of guiding these lads, hopefully towards being the best they can be.

And today they were.

I tend not to talk too much about individual performances and goals, but today will be different.

We worked hard as a team, in the first half we had to try and get a foothold in the game against a very game Woking side.

Good possesion and pressure led to Joe (Elsies son) giving us the lead and Asa adding to it. Between the two goals, Yusuf came off as he was struggling to have an impact as centre forward when we were having some decent possession, when he's had such a good season thus far.

And that is the mark of a really good player, he came off, we talked and listened and Yusuf took to the pitch again with a completely different intent. To give us one of the best halves of attacking football we've seen, on tv or live this season.

A completely individual run from half way gave him a goal, complimented by goals assisted by Elliott and Luca, proved what a destructive player he can be.

We had brilliant performances all over the pitch, from crafty Asa, to constant running from Reece, a work rate which is never to be under rated, its no coincidence that defences struggle when Reece is testing midfields constantly.
The ever strong Nassim is too much for many, and James is growing into the midfield role nicely.

Shay went from saving brilliantly in the first half to harassing defences in the second half.

Frankie played calmly again at the centre of defence before he went in goal for the second half, and Andy took complete control of the defence for the second half.

I feel today was Joes best performance of the season from a technical point of view, and tactically him and Asa were brilliant when we played against the wind, mopping up all the longer balls from Woking.

Aiden was ever steady and supplied a brilliant assist for Asa to score.

As previously stated birthday boy Elliott was exciting to watch down the left in the second half, as was the rendition of Happy Birthday when we got in the changing room after.

Well done boys, well done parents, (we can't do it without you) and good luck Jac Rush, your battle will be a big one, but we are all behind you in wanting you to win.
