We don't need to be beautiful to win.

Sometimes, conditions and situations dictate, that it's not easy to be beautiful.

That's when the real quality of the TEAM shows itself, and yesterday that's what it did.

I'm still asking boys to play in positions they might not want. It's specifically to challenge they're own view of themselves, more so what they've been made to think of them selves.

Knowing that they would do them selves proud,(regardless of result) yesterday was a day that showed they can now cope with whats thrown at them.

What we never know is if they are going to get a result. Well they made sure they did.

I honestly believe that we could all have walked away and left them to it, they could have managed the subs and arranged the team and would have won, because they care, they understand what it takes to look after each other, this was no easy game, hard fought, lots of little knocks. They came off knowing their team mates will help them. Thats true beauty. When the pain went they wanted to go back on. Thats being part of a team. They are good off the pitch and its repaid on the pitch.

The game was won, by a very lively Asa, who scored in the 7th minute, a brilliant volley from Yusuf's knock on, and the boys reversed that for the second, in the same minute of the second half.

Raynes Park, were a lively side, worth they're second place in the league, however I think top 4 is more realistic perhaps. They were the best team we've beaten and the second best we've played behind next weeks opponents, in SCR.

I have to compliment our supporters, whom were generally really good and supportive, as opposed to the **** I could hear coming out of our opposing fans. Some of whats said is such nonsense, and they want a 10 year old boy to hear it, process it and then carry it out in less than a second, and then making sure he feels bad because he didn't manage to.

For me tho the most important thing about the team is their versatility.

Shay was excellent on the day, his confidence and commitment to playing football the right way has been very settling.

James, played in two positions, CD and CF until coming off injured, so much energy at CF, defending from the front, brilliant.

Elliott, started as sub this week, and brought tremendous energy to the pitch, really effective performance, got injured, came off and returned to do the same again

Luca, always calm, shows the way technically. Played in CM,RW,CD , got injured, came back on, our best passer on an iffy surface.

Nassim, what can I say, a monster in CDM, brilliant game, also played CD.

Frankie, came on at CD and had a really controlled game, great reading of the game.

Yusuf, engaging performance, defenders nightmare again, great attitude. Played CF, LW

Andy, cool on the ball, never fluffs his lines. Technically gifted.Played LB, LW and CF, too cool for school!

Asa, a managers dream in this form. So quick and confident, constantly driving the team forward. Played LW,RW,CF

Joe, made the run of the game, a wonderful attitude to helping out in difficult situations, awesome speed. RB,LW,CM

Aiden, came on at RW and got stuck straight in, so solid. Then played at RB, nothing gets past him. Quality on the ball.

Reece, fantastic energy, played out RW and then CM, got hurt a couple of times and went straight back in. Wicked.

Thats a team performance.

Man of the match: Asa, just caused so many problems. Best performance he's had this season, obviously wanted the program. Enjoy the program, you deserve it.
