Bedfont Eagles Sports U14 vs Meadow Sports

Bedfont were playing at home to Meadow Sports on a freezing Sunday morning.

Bedfont kicked off but Meadow Sports went straight on the attack and shot the ball over the crossbar. Just after this Bedfont gained control and came close with a shot from Jack E which went just wide but minutes later Michael got the ball and made a great run past the keeper who came out to meet him and scored 1-0. Meadow Sports came straight back on the attack and ran through the Bedfont defence and scored the equalizer 1-1.

The game was even and both sides wanted to win this game but Bedfont took the lead again when Nathan laid a great ball through the Meadow Sports defence for Tommy who sent the ball past the keeper 2-1. Once again Meadow sports came back but were denied when Nathan made the save. Bedfont carried on the attack with shots from Jimmy and Tommy which were saved and wide.

Bedfont increased the lead when Jimmy sent the ball into the goal area for Michael to head it in 3-1 closely followed by the next goal which was a shot from Jimmy which was saved and dropped for Tommy to score 4-1. Bedfont were playing well and with just 10 minutes left in the first half a great corner taken by Tommy resulted in the next goal when it dropped to Josh who placed past the keeper 5-1. Further shots from Jack E, Josh, Tommy and Michael were saved or wide but in last couple a minutes a terrific shot from Jack E outside the box hit the goal post and went in to make the half time score 6-1.

Second half started and Bedfont carried on where they left off with shots from Abbas, Tommy, Shahan and Sam which were saved or wide. Meadow Sports were not giving up and came close with a great shot which hit the Bedfont goal crossbar. The game continued with Bedfont putting more pressure on the Meadow Sports defence until a great ball from Tommy across the box straight to Josh who slammed the ball into the net 7-1. More shots followed from Abbas and Josh but were unlucky. Meadow Sports gained the ball and ran down the left wing and caught the keeper off the line and sent the ball into the side of the net 7-2.

Bedfont came straight back when Abbas chipped the Meadow Sports keeper to score 8-2. This remained the final score despite more shots from Nathan, Shahan and Abbas.
