Bedfont Eagles Sports U14 vs Colliers Wood

Bedfont were playing away at Colliers Wood and after a 15 minute walk from the cars we arrived at the pitch which was doing a good impression of a mud bath.

Colliers Wood kicked off and attacked straight away with a shot which went wide. Bedfont pushed back but Colliers Wood were the more dominant with another shot going wide. Bedfont finally got going while trying to stay upright with a shot from Michael which was saved followed by shots from Tommy, Jimmy, Sam and Jack going wide or over the top.

A very controversial free kick was given to Collier Wood just outside the goal area but a great save from Nathan denied them the goal. The game continued to go end to end with Jimmy and George clearing the ball off the line. Shots from Tommy, Michael, Liam were saved and a great shot from Jack which hit the post.

The score remained 0-0 at half time with both teams trying hard to win.

Bedfont kicked off and struggled to get into the game as the players were slow to respond and not communicating. They got a wakeup call when Colliers Wood scored but the goal was disallowed for being offside. Bedfont were now trying to win the game and a shot from Tommy went wide followed by Jimmy running in to the box and despite the Colliers Wood goal keeper trying some wrestling moves on him he managed to turn and shoot the ball into the goal to make it 0-1 to Bedfont.

Further shots from Liam, Nathan, Sam, Shahan were saved or just wide and with minutes left a final push from Colliers Wood but Nathan made a great save to deny them the goal.

A tight game and showed Bedfont they cannot take anything for granted.
