Bedfont Eagles Sports vs Meadow Sports

Bedfont were playing away at Meadow Sports and it was cold Sunday morning, real football weather.

This was the first game for Jack Emeny who recently transferred and players welcomed the new addition to the team.

Meadow kicked off but Bedfont took control and pushed forward straight away. The first twenty minutes and the ball did not leave the Meadow half with shots from Tommy x 4, Jack E x 2, Sam x 3 and Liam who hit the crossbar but nothing would go in the net. Then suddenly Meadow pushed back and Bedfont were lucky when their shot hit post but now Meadow had the momentum and within minutes they took the lead 1-0. Bedfont pushed back and once again shots from Tommy, Jimmy and Nathan were saved. The Meadow keeper was having a great game but a terrific ball from Jack E over the defender heads to Tommy who placed the ball past the keeper into the corner of the net and equalised the score at 1-1.

Tommy followed that minutes later with another goal but this was disallowed for being offside. Meadow came close to taking the lead again but a great save from Nathan denied them. With 5 minutes left in the first half both teams were trying to take the lead but the stalemate was broken when Tommy made a great run down the wing and scored 1-2 but Meadow came close once again to equalising but Nathan was up to the task and made a great save. So the score remained 1-2 to Bedfont at half time

Bedfont kicked off and within minutes Sam had 2 shots but they were saved and wide. Meadow came back but the shot went over the top. More shots from Sam, Abbas x 3 and Nathan were denied and the ball was going from one end to the other. Another terrific save from Nathan once again stopped Meadow. Bedfont wanted this one and Abbas while being held back managed to get the shot off and made the score 1-3 but that was not the end of Meadow. They pushed back straight away and managed to get their second goal 2-3. Both sides were playing hard football but with 10 minutes left a great ball from Abbas to Josh who calmly chipped the keeper made the score 2-4. That remained the final score despite more shots from Jimmy, Josh, Michael and Nathan.

For a team who are at the bottom of the table Meadow Sports played some great football and were a challenge
