Bedfont Eagles Sports U14 vs Colliers Wood

A foggy Sunday morning and Bedfont were playing Colliers Wood in another league game.

From the whistle Bedfont pushed forward and Tommy came close when it was only the last defender who managed to get a touch of the ball denied him the opening goal. This seemed to wake up Colliers Wood who then got control of the ball. For the next 10 minutes the ball was going to end to end with both teams trying to get the first goal. Michaels shot was saved but minutes later a great ball from Sam to Tommy who chipped the keeper opening the coring for Bedfont 1-0. Bedfont started to dominate the game with the ball staying in the Colliers Wood half. A shot from Tommy was saved and gave Bedfont the corner, Nathan stepped up and laid the ball into the box for Kaine to do a brilliant bicycle kick sending the ball over the head of the Colliers Wood keeper into the top of the net to make it 2-0.

Further shots followed from Tommy and Nathan but the next goal came when Nathan sent a great pass through to Sam who took the shot and sent it into the corner of the net 3-0. Minutes later Sam made a run down the wing and sent the ball to Tommy and he slammed the ball past the keeper to make it 4-0.

There was no stopping Bedfont and shots from Nathan, Tommy, Sam, Abbas and Josh went wide or saved. With only a couple of minutes left Nathan laid the ball onto Liam who made a great shot from outside the box over the top of the defenders and past the keeper.

This made the score 5-0 to Bedfont at half time.

The second half started and Bedfont carried on applying the pressure when Josh ran forward and took the ball from one of the Colliers Wood defenders and slotted the ball past their keeper 6-0. For the next 10 minutes Bedfont seemed to turn off and stopped talking to each other which allowed Colliers Wood to push forward. They came close with a ball laid across the Bedfont goal mouth but their striker unable to get the final touch. This was followed by another shot just over the cross bar and then a great save by Nathan denied them getting on the score sheet. Bedfont started coming back into the game but the next goal from Josh was disallowed for being offside but minutes later he laid a great ball onto Tommy who got his hat trick 7-0.

Colliers wood did not give up and once again it was only a great save from Nathan who stopped them scoring. A goal kick and Tommy gained the ball and ran down the middle and then laid the ball through the defenders for Nathan who slammed the ball past the keeper into the net 8-0.

Minutes later Nathan got his second goal when his shot hit both posts and rolled in past the keeper 9-0. Bedfont were trying to get double figures and they got it when a the ball was headed into the box from Sam to Josh who sent the ball into the net 10-0. Nathan came close to his hat trick when his header just went over the bar but the next goal came when Josh laid the ball Tommy who calmly sent the ball past the keeper into the corner of the net 11-0.

There was 7 minutes left and Connor deserved to score as he was dominating the left wing but his first two shots saved and his third shot was cleared on the line by their defender which allowed Josh to run in and get his hat trick 12-0.

Final score 12-0

A good game but for 15 minutes when Bedfont had gone so far in front they switched off and it was only some great defending that gave them the clean sheet.

Man of the match was Tommy for constant pressure he was applying
