Bedfont Eagles Sports U14 vs Rocks Lane Rovers

It feels like the season has been going for a while now but this was only the second league game for Bedfont Eagles Sports and it was away against Rocks Lane Rovers.

The game started and as soon as Rocks Lane kicked off Tommy ran at them and got the ball and scored within the first minute 0-1, which gave a great start for Bedfont. The ball was kept within the Rocks Lane rovers end with shots from Sam, Michael and Abbas being saved or going wide.

A great ball from Sam went through the Rocks Lane players to Tommy who then took a terrific shot from a tight angle and managed to get it past the keeper to make 0-2 to Bedfont.

Bedfont were playing well and further shots from Tommy, Nathan, Sam and Jimmy were unlucky but during a mad scramble from the Rocks Lane Rovers defenders in the box Michael jumped in and gained the ball to slam into the net to make it 0-3. Rocks Lane started to push back and a great save from Nathan denied them. The ball now started to go end to end as both teams were trying but Rocks lane were unable to get through Bedfonts defence and shots from Nathan, Tommy and Josh were saved.

Rocks Lane came close when they made the break and their striker was one on one with Nathan but he made a great save. With 5 minutes left Shahan made a great pass to Tommy who caught the Rocks Lane keeper off the his line and chipped the ball over his head to make the half time score 0-4 to Bedfont.

The second half started and Rocks Lane went straight on the attack and pushed hard for the first 10 minutes but a terrific pass from Kaine to Josh who ran through the defence and placed the ball over the keepers head to make it 0-5. Further shots from Shahan, Abbas and Nathan were saved but Bedfont took their eyes off the ball and Rocks Lane took advantage and scored 1-5.

This galvanised Rocks Lane and they pushed hard with one shot being saved on the line by George who volleyed it away but there was no stopping them when they came back on the attack and getting their second goal 2-5

Bedfont managed to get themselves back together and attacked which led to a corner, Sam took the corner and placed into the box and Abbas jumped and made a great header into the top of the net 2-6. With 10 minutes left Bedfont went all out and when Tommy regained the ball from Rocks Lane he made a great run and allotted ball into the corner of the net 2-7. Bedfont kept trying to increase the score with shots from Jimmy, Tommy and Nathan but the final score remained 2-7 at full time.

Bedfont played well but when they went ahead early they seemed to relax and not keep the pressure on which resulted in Rocks Lane getting the 2 goals.

Man of the match was Tommy who pushed against Rocks Lane at every opportunity.
