First League Game

Our first league game of the season and the team were facing Brockham Badgers.

The game started and Bedfont went straight on the attack with a shot from Abbas which was saved. For the next 10 minutes Bedfont dominated the game and the ball did not leave the Brockham half but despite shots from Nathan, Sam, Tommy, Josh and Abbas the ball could not find the net, mainly in part to some great goal keeping from the Brockham keeper.

The goal finally came when Sam laid the ball from the right into the box to Abbas who placed ball into the corner of the net to make it 1-0 and minutes later they did it again to make it 2-0. Now the goals were coming and Bedfont pushed hard. A great ball from Abbas over the defenders heads to Tommy who then sent the ball over the keepers head to make it 3-0. There was no stopping Bedfont now and Abbas hit his hat trick when jimmy laid a great ball to him 4-0.

Brockham could not get back into the game and further shots from Sam and Tommy kept the pressure on. With minutes left the ball was laid into the box from Sam and Josh smashed it into the net to make the half time score 5-0.

Half time started and Brockham tried to get back in the game but when they played the long ball it landed at kaines feet he then ran forward past 2 players and a marvellous shot from outside the box went over the keepers head into the top of the net 6-0. Bedfont were playing some great football and continued the attack with shots from Tommy, Jimmy, Shahan and Abbas but were saved or just wide. Suddenly out of nowhere Brockham caught Bedfont unawares and a break down the wing resulted in a great one handed save from Nathan pushing the ball over the cross bar. With Bedfont still reeling from the sudden attack Brockham scored minutes later to make it 6-1 .

The Bedfont team were not happy about this and made sure Brockham were punished when just a minute later a terrific ball by Michael to Abbas resulted in him getting his fourth goal 7-1. Further shots from Jimmy Tommy, Nathan, Connor kept the Brockham keeper on his toes but there was no stopping the next goal. Shahan laid the ball onto Nathan who sent the ball into the corner on the net out of the keepers reach 8-1. Only minutes left and a great run from Sam down the wing who passed the ball to Josh who then laid the ball not Nathan who got his second goal within 2 minutes.

Final score 9-1 and good performance from Bedfont
