Sports go out of the FA Vase

Manager Mick Snowden was forced into a number of changes for this big FA Vase game, Juluis was cup tied and Top scorer Jordan Esprit was unavailable as well as Danny Byron. Sports brought in youth team left back Anton Jarvis and Cedric Bidsocka after his recent goalscoring form for both the youth team and ressies.

Sports didnt start well and were 2-0 down after just 13 minutes but then our young side grew into the game. Se started to create chances and a clear penalty was not awarded when Tom Mooney was brought down by the Horsham keeper. On 43 minutes we got one back and Dean Thomas was the man on the spot to smash the ball home from a corner.

The second half sports really gave it everything and despite a break away goal in the 60 minute it was very much us in charge without really testing the Horsham YMCA Keeper. In the 82 minute we did find a second and it looked like a tense final 10 minutes, however the linesman found an offside, he was the only person in the ground that saw it and what made it worse was that Dean thomas had come from the edge of the box through a crowd of players to score !!!

Anyway Horsham YMCA ran out 3-1 winners and there display in the 1st half was worthy of the win.

Great pitch and great committee, all round a good day with a good crowd, good luck for the rest of the season, its back to league action for us !!
