Hard work pays off

The boys really turned up this week, after a training session the night before focusing on possession and moving the ball quickly it was clear to see that the boys took the advice.

The game started slow with the ball not being zipped around like the night before. So the decision was made to bring on the midfield mistro of Harvey. This instantly made a difference, one two touch passes were being zipped round and the football that followed was phenomenal!! The goal soon came and there was some good finishes, but the highlight from the first half has to be the great passing that lead to arguably goal of the season so far. The ball started on the left wing was passed around two touch, through the middle of the the pitch to the right wing where Danny beat his man with pace and delivered a cracking ball. To us on the sideline is was a true reminder how much you boys have come on these last few months.

Half time: 5-0

The second half we played some good football and frustrated Binfield by maintaining possession for long periods of time and credit to their keeper for making some outstanding saves, the goals seemed to dry up despite multiple shots. Eventually we scored with what could be described as a good tactical change to bring on Yacine as he scored from the back post with a simple tap in. And the final goal was the hat trick for Adam which was well deserved.

Despite playing some great football in phases we still need to become clinical in front of goal and take our chances because against the stronger teams games will be won or lost by the odd goal. Overall a great performance and is evidence that the hard work you do on a Friday is worth it and we are starting to see the rewards.
