Sports travelled to local Abbey Rangers this morning were this season we have had some great results.
I had a full squad to pick from apart from Joel who's still side lined with a pulled hamstring. To be fare the team picked itself from last weeks great performance, the boys have the bit between there teeth now and are hungry to secure the League title so we can concentrate on our final on the 28th April.
As always we started quick and direct, putting the Abbey defence on the back foot from the start. Nojus was his clinical self in front of goal this morning scoring first from a Andrew Corner 1-0 Sports.
Adam, Robert, Diego and Callahan were awesome this morning in midfield, they dominated from the start and never gave the Abbey Midfield chance to breath.... so it wouldn't be long before we was having another shot on goal.... up stepped Inform Andrew to volley the ball home 2-0 Sports.
Dennis, Jack and Lavante was solid as ever today in defence and in goal, Saturday goalkeeper training is defiantly paying off as Lavante has his best game of the season today, playing out from the back was good, his kicking was on point and his hands was awesome. Jack and Dennis was strong in there tackles and good this week at heading and clearing there lines.....
Sports was buzzing now playing some adorable football giving Abbey no chance to get a foot hold in the game. Nojus scored two more sealing his first half hat trick.. 4-1 sports at half time.
Zain and Georgie came on 5 mins into the second half both showed hunger and desire and both slotted into there positions with both players poising a threat .....
The second half was more tighter with Abbey being more defensive but this never stopped us trying to break the Abbey Defence down, some cracking shoots from Callahan, Adam and Nojus was all saved very well from the Abbey Goal keeper who had a cracking second half.
Andrew hadn't finished his goal scoring, so when he read and cut out a pass which left him one on one with the goal keeper there was only ever going to be one out come.... 5-1 Sports and Andrew getting his second of the match..
The boys need just one more win out of the last two games to clinch the title so please all come along next week to Woking Cougars (away) and cheer the boys on...
Man of the Match.... Lavante
