Eagles U16s vs Junior Bees
The first half started and both teams didn't start great, it was a bit scrappy for the first 10 minutes. Then both teams started to play some good football, Junior Bees played their part in this game it wasn't just all Bedfont. Considering Junior Bees are a Division 2 team they played some good football. But, it was Bedfont who started to create some chances, and took one of their chances by winning the ball back in midfield, Bradley Vaughan played the ball out wide to Ryan Bishton who crossed the ball over first time, their keeper missed the ball which bounced in the box and Jordan Morgan to score with an overhead kick. What a goal by him he took it well and controlled it. Bedfont created more chances but nothing came of them. 1-0 halftime.
I made changes at the start of the second half, bringing on Dylan Mckenzie and Mason Greenfield and changed the formation. It seem to work, we were winning the ball higher up the pitch and creating chances Junior Bees found it harder to get out off their half, but they didn't give up and stood their ground, however it was Bedfont who scored again. This goal was a team goal, it all started with the Bedfont defence winning the ball back from a Junior Bees attack. Luke Mould won the ball back, played it to Ryan Fisher who played it into the midfield to Jordan for him to turn with the ball and play a through ball to Jason Boyle who then crossed it over for Sidney Thompson to run onto and head it in, great team goal. Bedfont took there foot of the gas and Junior Bees started play some good football. But, then something out off the blue happened. Mitchell Whelan, our goalkeeper, made and unusual bad kick and it went straight to a Junior Bees player who ran through and hit a great strike but Mitchell made a good save, however the ball went straight to a Junior Bees player who hit a great shot from outside the box to make it 2-1. This woke us up and we started to take control of the game and it wasn't long before Bedfont scored again. The ball was played out to the left to Gideon, who made a great run down the left and to hit a low cross into the box for Jason Boyle to hit first time into the corner of Junior Bees goal.
Like I said at the beginning Junior Bees played their part in this game and it was a good game to watch, but the Eagles were too strong for the Bees in the end.
Great win for Bedfont.
