2 Wins on the bounce for the Eagles!

Sunday the 24th of September 2023 saw The Eagles face a visit from Manorcroft United who were looking to pick up their first win of the season.

To start for The Eagles: Jayden in goal, Jack, Kofi, Riley, Zak and Deon complete the back five, Ikenna, Mason and Karma start in midfield while Vincent and Will lead the line.

The first half saw both teams feel their way into the game, Bedfont were over playing in patches and struggling to break the Manorcroft back line. Eventually Vincent popped up and rifled home his first goal of the game 1-0! Donald again scored minutes after coming on to give The Eagles a 2-0 lead heading into half time.

The second half started and The Eagles were a lot sharper moving the ball around nicely opening up the Manorcroft back line, Vincent grabbed his second of the game earning a 3-0 lead. Donald jumped in on the act again to give The Eagles a 4-0 lead. Vincent grabbed his hat trick by bullying his way through a crowed box and tucked home his 7th goal in 3 games to gain a 5-0 lead. Will was taken out inside the box and won a penalty for Riley to step up again and convert the spot kick, 6-0! Zak was then presented with an open goal due to the unselfish work of Vincent, Zak took his opportunity and extended The Eagles lead to 7-0. The Manorcroft striker then hunted down a loose ball and scored simply by just being in the way, 7-1!

Overall even with a big score line The Eagles will be disappointed they haven't scored more! I think we hit the bar 3/4 times and the Manorcroft GK pulled off a few very good saves. The fact that we had a slightly off day yet still came out 7-1 victors says a lot about this group and once 11s click for them properly I know they are going to be a real force! Massive welcome to Noah who finally made his debut for The Eagles after impressing all pre season. MOTM has to go to Vincent, 7 goals in 3 games is some going, Vince has been working really hard for the group and his goal scoring form is impeccable. Well done Vincent!

Next week we face a trip to Meadow Sports in a league fixture due to receiving a by into the next round of the County Cup.
