Bedfont Eagles Sports U15 vs Aldershot Boys & Girls
Great team performance
Bedfont’s last home game and it was against Aldershot who had the best defensive record in the league. This was a must win match if the team wanted promotion again.
Bedfont kicked off but both teams were trying to get the advantage with the ball going from end to end but terrific skill from Jack E got Bedfont the first goal when he went through three defenders and sent the ball past the Aldershot keeper.
Aldershot looked shocked and Bedfont carried on putting pressure on their defence. Great run from Jacob tested them but his shot was saved. Aldershot pushed back but Nathan denied them the goal. Bedfont were playing well and looked like they really wanted this game.
A marvellous cross from Jacob to Tommy but his shot went just over the bar followed by a great shot from George which went just wide. Suddenly Aldershot made a break and a great one handed save from Nathan once again denied them the equaliser.
More shots from Jack C, Sam, Jack E and Jacob but were saved or wide but with 10 minutes left in the first half Jacob sent the ball through to Jack E who calmly sent the ball into the corner of the net to make the score at half time 2-0 to Bedfont.
Aldershot kicked off but Bedfont immediately gained possession and for the first 10 minutes the ball did not leave the Aldershot half as they pulled all the players back. With Bedfont unable to gain a further advantage Aldershot made a break with a shot which went wide but they were finding hard to cope with the solid Bedfont defence.
Bedfont pushed back with shots from Jack E, Jack C, Sam and Nathan but with no luck. When Aldershot played the long ball and attacked down the left wing a penalty was given when the it was deemed as hand ball even through the hands were down the side and any touch was accidental. The penalty was taken and the ball was launched over the cross bar, Aldershot heads dropped briefly.
Tommy pushed forward and was unlucky when his shots went wide or over but Aldershot did not give up and pushed forward and were awarded a free kick. Aldershot took a great shot and it and went straight into Bedfont’s goal to make the score 2-1. Bedfont were worrying when only minutes later Aldershot were awarded free kick in nearly the exact same position but the shot went wide.
With only five minutes to go both teams were playing well and trying to get the points. A shot from Jacob went wide and then a great save from Nathan when Aldershot were given a corner. In the dying moments of the game a long ball sent up front and Connor ran forward shoulder to shoulder with their defender. He got past him and sent the ball past the keeper to score 3-1 to finally end the game for Aldershot.
Final score 3-1
