We are delighted to now confirm Stewart Brown has agreed to take over the reins of our Bostik youth U18s team for the 2018/19 season. Stewart is no stranger at the club, he has been assistant to Simon Edwards for the past 3 seasons and also runs our Bedfont Eagles U13s team. Stewart who is currently working towards his UEFA A licence qualification after completing his UEFA B Licence last year.

Following his appointment Stewart stated:

'I’m delighted to have been named the youth team manager and look forward to building on the fantastic work Simon Edwards has done over the last 3 years. Having the support of Tristan Lewis (first team coach at Billericay Town) and his back-room staff at United Select will be a welcomed addition.

I’m an ambitious coach and therefore really excited about working with a like-minded football club who are clearly going places!

My primary focus will be player development, maximising potential and preparing players for senior football. Creating a serious fun environment is important to me; I want my players to have fun, however it must be linked to learning!'

Club Secretary Terry Reader Stated,

'We are delighted that Stewart has agreed to take the reins, it was always going to be a tough act to follow as Simon Edwards has been key in building the foundations of the club with his work with our youth teams. Having worked with Stewart in recent years we have no doubt he will carry on with the amazing work both himself and Simon have done and continue to develop great teams and players for our club'.

Stewart will be working closely with Paul Johnson and his 1st team management team to help develop players for senior football, he will also have involvement in our U23s group which will help players pathways to the 1st team at the club.
